Burglary Suspects Caught In Meridian

 

 

Tonight, in Meridian, two suspects are being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center for a crime involving a burglary and stabbing.

 

Meridian Police responded to a report on Thursday morning, March 5,  about a burglary and aggravated assault at the Magnolia Courts Apartments.

A female victim was found injured with multiple stab wounds at the scene.

She told authorities two suspects broke into her apartment, stole property, and attacked her when she confronted them. 

 

The victim was later taken to a local hospital, where she had surgery for her stab wounds.

 

All parties knew each other, and the victim was able to identify the suspects.

 

Melvin Blakely jr. was arrested on Saturday, March 7th following the arrest of Shancortne Tomeka McCaine last Thursday.

 

The two are facing charges of residential burglary with a $25,000 bond and aggravated assault with a $50,000 bond.
