There has been a hike in flights taking off and landing in Neshoba County

This is one of the many aircraft that can be seen at the Philadelphia Municipal Airport. Lately there has been a record high number of flights coming in.

“The economy may have improved a little bit and people are back flying in here more than they did back in 2008 and 2010,” said Dan Cumberland, airport manager.

A corporate pilot shared with Twin States News what a typical day looks like for him flying high in the sky.

“Flying is great because my office view, it changes every day, and I got the best office view in town,” said Tommy Flynn corporate captain.

He says the first-time approach to Philadelphia will leave an unforgettable departure.

“This is a great little airport; they have business aviation. It’s good to see that small airports like these are thriving,”said Tommy Flynn corporate captain.

Regardless of flights being corporate or personal, staff on hand is prepared to provide needed accommodations.

“From seven in the morning until 5 in the afternoon, if it’s after hours people can be called out to fuel airplanes,” said Dan Cumberland, airport manager.
