Today in Meridian, a new home was dedicated to a local family by Lauderdale County Habitat for Humanity.
The home dedication was held to welcome Ashley Wilder, Mickey Jackson, and their two children to their newly constructed home.
The family was presented with a bible for their home and their home was blessed by a local reverend.
New homeowner, Ashley Wilder, is thankful for her experience with Habitat for Humanity.
“I had to work on other people houses, so just to see the expression on their face and you know, it made me feel good inside to help other people, because I know one day I was going to need the help. So, when it was time to do my house, I learned –it was some stuff I learned by helping other people, about how to paint, because I didn’t know how to paint and also how to nail and hammer, it’s a certain way to do that, so I was just super excited to help other people and then come to my house and build my own home”, Ashley Wilder, new homeowner.
Lauderdale County Habitat for Humanity is able to build homes for families thanks to donations made locally.
