Local Meridian man wows the crowd on NBC's "The Voice"

In Meridian,  a local pastor showed off his skills as a singer on NBC’s show, “The Voice”.

Todd Tilghman serenaded the crowd and the judges during his blind audition on "The Voice", earning him the first four chair turn of season 18.

Todd was first on stage for this season’s blind auditions, performing Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band’s “We’ve Got Tonight”.

“When you’re standing there waiting on the music to start that’s the point that seems like forever, but once it starts, I guess, you’re like I’m here, you know, I’m in it, I might as well do it and then the chairs start turning and you lose all your plans and its all just out the window”, said Todd Tilghman, contestant on “The Voice”.

Todd tells Twin States, how he felt when all four judges turned their chairs for his performance.

“In that moment I was singing but I do remember consciously thinking omg, all four of them have turned their chairs for you, like---it literally was like a dream, I don’t know how to explain it, it was insane", said Todd.

Saying that he is grateful for the entire experience.

“The way that I have looked at all of this from the beginning –this blind audition, you know—its really exciting until its time to be nervous and then I get pretty nervous, you know, but right now its exciting—I’m feeling really grateful like –this guy I was talking to this morning—he was like ‘well I hope you know Meridian and Mississippi is proud of you’ and I’m like I’m proud of meridian, I’m proud of Mississippi”, said Todd.

Also sharing what winning the voice --would mean for him.

“If I were to win, what I feel like that would do for me would be, it would provide for me that next step that I’m looking for”, said Todd.

Now as a member of Team Blake Shelton, Todd will be seen next in the battle rounds on “The Voice”.
