Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian holds Annual Pancake Jubilee



Today in Meridian, many people gathered at the Temple Theater Ballroom to support the Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian’s Annual Pancake Jubilee.


Falling on National Pancake Day, The Downtown Optimist Club serves hot and ready pancakes and sausage for the fundraiser.


This year is their 73rd year holding the pancake jubilee fundraiser.


The event is all you can eat, and the proceeds will benefit at least 20 organizations supporting youth, in the community, like the Boys and Girls Club of East Mississippi, The Care Lodge, Cans for Kids, and more.


 “Well, you know, every year it rolls around and just coming to support the cause and enjoy some good pancakes”, said William Hodges, Meridian resident.


 “This is my first time participating, so, I’m glad I came, the food was wonderful --wonderful”, said Travis Thames, Philadelphia resident.


The pancake jubilee is the Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian’s largest fundraising event of the year and the fundraiser is from 6:30 am until seven pm tonight.
