Today in Meridian, the Meridian Public-School District had a press conference to discuss the success of the Any Given Child initiative.
A status report was given on the impact of arts integration in the K-8 classrooms, this past year.
Stating that for the first time since 2015, there are no failing schools in the Meridian Public-School District.
“On our state testing, we’ve seen improved outcomes in student performance, we’re seeing that our students are engaged they’re attending school more, they’re coming to school and we’re seeing that our teachers see the benefit of using the arts integration and arts education across the school district, so we’re celebrating those outcomes today”, said Clair Huff, District Art Coordinator.
The Meridian Public-School District is planning to create science lesson plans that integrate the arts, for the Any Given Child initiative, to implement the next school year.
