With there being a total of 5 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in the U.S., many precautions have been put into place to keep it from spreading throughout the country, but people are still concerned.
Twin States News spoke with an Infection Control Coordinator at Anderson Regional Medical about ways to prevent yourself from getting the virus.
“Don’t forget about those things that we put to our faces, you know, don’t forget about washing your cellphones and anything like that, that you have contact in your daily life, you know, and as humans we have a habit of putting lots of things to our faces. So, washing your hands is one of the ways we can prevent the spread of the virus and of course covering your cough. I always tell everybody cough into your elbow, don’t cough into your hand, you know, you have to wash your hands. With your elbow you can actually prevent that spread a little bit, by keeping that there”, said Andrea Laird, RN, MSN.
The Mississippi State Department of Health has asked practitioners in the state to report all suspected cases of the Coronavirus to the MSDH Office of Epidemiology.
