The Lauderdale County School District is in the beginning stages of starting a new foundation.
The Lauderdale County Foundation for Excellence and Education will help bring additional funding for teachers by using classroom grants to cover additional educational expenses.
The School District is partnering with Community Foundation to accept donations.
“We can invest in our school district and even have outside sources who want to be a part of that and help contribute and make that a reality,” said Dr. John Mark-Cain, Lauderdale County superintendent.
School administrators say this foundation will be a wonderful asset to the school district and community in Lauderdale County.
