Dancing For A Cause Gets Ready For Tomorrow Night

It’s Meridian’s version of dancing with the stars.

Some notable members of the community are about to lace up their dancing shoes all for a good cause.

Dancing for a cause is an annual event that is hosted by The Elegance Ballroom Dance And Fitness Studio.

Hannah Whatley came in second place last year and had the opportunity to help out this time around.

"I have helped with some of the couples, like helping them learn their choreography, helping them polish their steps  and everything, I’m definitely not a teacher by any means, but I’ve been lucky to have this opportunity to work with people who I can call friends now and learned a lot about ballroom, myself, in the process”, said Hannah Whatley.

She says the couples competing are eager show off their new moves.

”They Have just grown and they’re having so much fun with it now, whereas at first they were like really trying to get the steps, and they were really focused, now they’re just having fun.  They’re smiling the whole time.  So, I’m so proud of them”, said Whatley.

The money raised will go to The Care Lodge and The Cancer Benevolence Fund.

“ I am just super excited that we can have this opportunity to support the care lodge and the cancer benevolent fund, like, I’m super passionate about domestic violence and I know from experience of friends and family, it’s such an important thing to support and raise awareness for so I’m super excited for this opportunity to spread awareness about it”, said Whatley.

The event is tomorrow night and will be held at 6pm in the ballroom at Temple Theater and the tickets have sold out.
