Tonight, the search is on for a shooter, who targeted a man while he was walking down 45th Avenue.
This happened last evening.
We’re told the shooter got out of a black car and approached the man, exchanged words with him then opened fire.
The victim was shot twice in the leg and taken to Rush Foundation Hospital.
Authorities say this was not a random act of violence and that the victim knows the suspect.
Twin States News spoke with people in Meridian for their thoughts on the crime.
“It’s just like, stuff like that, you have to be aware about, you know, kind of, it shouldn’t have to lead to, like, exchanging gunfire back and forth, whatever, because at the end of the day that’s somebody’s life, somebody’s father, somebody’s brother, you know stuff like that shouldn’t go on”, Tre Goodman, Meridian resident.
The Meridian Police Department is still investigating this crime.
