Across the country, and right here In East Mississippi, people who put their lives on the line to keep us safe are being honored.
It’s National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. The officers who patrol the streets of Meridian say an entire day honoring them is very welcomed.
“I feel that we should have days of recognition because; every morning we get up and we come to work, we put our life on the line for other families that most of the time we don’t know them. Most of us have families back at home,” said Chanetta Stevens, Senior Patrol Officer.
Several Officers with MPD took a few minutes to recognize the appreciation and immediately got back on patrol.
