The Mississippi Arts & Entertainment Experience is bringing the Christmas scene to the museum for the holiday spirit. The festival kicks off this Friday and Saturday.
“We’ll have some Christmas lights and some different things around the MAX on Friday to kind of kick off the holiday season,” said Elizabeth Alexander, adult educator.
Followed by the Christmas spirit, the museum will have Holiday Arts & Crafts standing out from the Night Market scene.
“It’s more artist heavy. The Night Market is more farmer heavy. We will have some produce vendors where you can buy some greens and things like that but it’s really more about the artist and artisans,” said Alexander.
Live entertainment will also be a thing to draw in crowds.
“Sam money and his band are playing Friday night. Saturday is a little more family oriented.
We will have craft tents where kids can decorate Christmas ornaments, cookie platters for Santa Clause and Santa and Mrs. Clause will be here the whole time,” Alexander said.
Community partners are on board to draw in some economic development.
“I have about thirty vendors committed, and it keeps growing. They’ll be over the place they might be down the side walk on Front Street. We’re hoping we can put them on the court yard,” said Alexander.
