Election workers prepare for governors race

Tomorrow voters will head to the polls to decide on several big local and statewide races: among them the governor and Lauderdale County District Attorney.

Democratic Candidate Jim Hood and Republican Candidate Tate Reeves are competing for the governors’ seat.

Democratic Candidate Michael Grace and Republican Candidate Kassie Coleman are running for The District Attorney for The Tenth Circuit Clerk.

The polls will open at seven AM and close at Seven PM.

“The election commissioners have been training the staff, the poll workers to know what to do on election day. The poll workers have to be there at six AM to make sure that those polls are open at seven AM. They’re open from seven AM until seven PM.  The deadline for absentee voting was this Saturday,” said Donna Jill Johnson, Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk.
