Meridian Little Theater showcases The Little Shop of Horrors

October 4, 2019

The third time is a charm for "The Little Shop of Horrors" at The Meridian Little Theater.

“We’ve had this production twice before once in 1987 and once in 2000. We’re very excited to have one of the original cast members in this cast as a different character. In the cast we’re just very excited, we have a talented group of people performing,” said Ellie Massey, executive director.

The play uses song and dance to teach a science lesson photosynthesis.

“The story is a down and out kind of shy self-deprecating flower shop employee. He has found a new plant just by accident during a total eclipse of the sun,” said Ellie Massey, executive director.

Ellie Massey says this play is just one of the successful productions put on by the non-profit organization.

“The better we do the more we’re rewarded through grant money and things like that. We’re just so excited and very honored to be 87 years strong. This is our 87th season if you can imagine that we’re one of the oldest in the country,” said Ellie Massey, executive director.
