Bonita Lakes Mall has back to school bash

In hopes of getting kids in the spirit of returning to school, Bonita Lakes Mall in Meridian brought out some exciting attractions for kids to enjoy.

“You can hear them squealing and they get into the big trucks, into the fire truck, and they crank it up for them; they let them blow the horn, so if you’re a kid; this is a fun time,” said Debby Delshad marketing director.

On-site was Meridian Fire and Police Department, Love’s Truck Stop, Snow Biz, and Happy Smiles.

“We have some very big truck fans in our family, we have some kids that are excited to see fire trucks and police cars and tankers before school starts and they even get to be inside the truck and that’s pretty cool,” said Chip Cowsert.

The Cowsert family says they have been looking forward to the back to school bash.

“We knew were going to be in town this weekend and to have something fun to do before we kick off school this week is pretty exciting,” Cowsert said.

Organizers with the mall say it feels good seeing children have a good time.

“Just to have a fun time before school starts before most of the schools start next week, so it’s just that one last chance to do something fun and something exciting,” Delshad said.
