If you haven't had time to get in those absentee votes during the week; then you're in luck. The circuit clerk’s office will be open this Saturday from eight am until noon.
The absentee ballots are only available for voters that have a legal time conflict in their schedule.
Legal excuses range from working during poll hours, going out of town for vacation or having a scheduled surgery.
We’ve got a lot of 18 wheeler drivers, railroad workers, a lot of people commute to Nissan. You’ve got people working at the mill, you have people in the medical field in Lauderdale County, Meridian, and surrounding areas that work seven AM until Seven PM: when you cannot go to the polls, please if you need to vote absentee; you need to come vote this week and go to your circuit clerk’s office,” Said Donna Jill Johnson Lauderdale County circuit clerk.
