State Treasurer of Mississippi, Lynn Fitch stopped by our station to highlight the importance of education.

It will take effect during the August school year, it teaches students about financial education.
Team is now mandatory by the Mississippi Department of Education to be offered in schools.
Over three-hundred school’s grades ninth through 12th will participate.
“This is a critical life skill, so when I first got into office we weren’t really pushing it, we weren’t allowing the children to participate. We didn’t’ really have a curriculum or program, so team:many partners, department of education, counseling of economic education, business insurance companies financial institutions all partnered together and raised a lot of private dollars to go into this program.” Said Lynn Fitch.
