The quilt exhibition is underway at The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience.
The contemporary quilt exhibit titled "Material Pulses: Seven Viewpoints and the Mississippi Quilting Exhibit" will be on display this Friday starting at nine a-m for members only.
Public showing will begin Saturday and will last until August 11th.
This exhibit is a traveling exhibit partly funded by The National Endowment For Humanities and is founded by Nancy Crow, a renown quilt artist.
There are about 40 quilts combined represented in the exhibit.
“It is the result of the residency where quilt artist come, and they learn techniques and learn how to quilt from her and, so I brought here because I thought quilting is really big here people like it and, so I thought it would be a quick way to show people quilts that they may not have ever seen before."Said Stacey Wilson, Maex curator.
The opening reception is for members only and will be available for non-members to view starting Saturday." Said Stacey Wilson, Maex curator.
