Southeast High School holds college signing day

May 1, 2019

 

 

Southeast High School had college signing day, and many students signed their names on the school logos where they will attend in the fall. 

 

“For our 9th through 11th graders to see what they’re going to be their senior year, to see the recognition they get, to see the support that they get to see the scholarship amount that these students get is just shows;you know what the students are able to achieve through all their hard work: that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.” Said Sydney Ehtridge,Southeast High School counselor.

 

 High school seniors had to make tough decisions in the process of choosing colleges. 

 

 “Jones, East Central, and Meridian Community College.” Said  Mary Alford Southeast High School senior. Said Mary Alford, Southeast High School Senior.

 

 “I’m a true Mississippi State fan at heart, so I really considered Mississippi State first, but Ole Miss really sold me on their early entry program.” Said Gracie Newell, Southeast High School senior.

 

 Quenjasmine Perrien has plans on heading to Alcorn State University to major in nursing.

 

 “I wanted to become a nurse; I have a passion for helping people, I feel like when you help others, you get a blessing from God, being that I like to help people, I just knew that nursing was something that I could do and it's also headed on.” Said Quenjasmine Perrien Southeast High School senior.

 

 Perrien believes that Alcorn State University is convenient for her.

 

 

“Because Alcorn is in the state of Missisippi  so, I get in-state tuition, and it also has the nursing program that’s the reason why I choose it,”Perrien said.

 

 

Jordan Weir says he is up for a good challenge and that’s why he believes pursing a career in The  Marines was at his heart.

 

 “When it comes to competition, I’m all about competition, I walked in to the recruiting office, and they said if you want a competition just come in here, and I loved it ever since.” Said Jordan Weir, Southeast High School senior.

 

 Autumun Brown is excited to be a bulldog and believes it will prepare her for what she needs to be successful.

 

 “I choose Mississippi State, well it was one of my dream colleges, and I decided to choose Mississippi State because I wanted to be a dentist when I get older, so I thought that bio chemistry program with a concentration would be a great choice.” Said Autumun Brown, Southeast High School senior.

 

 Mary Alford will major in accounting and says she is excited about heading to Jackson State University.

 

“I feel like Jackson State will prepare me, and I will do well in the real world.” Said Mary Alford, Southeast High School Senior.
