With Easter coming up this weekend, LoveNow Community church is looking to egg-cite the community with a large Easter egg hunt this weekend. On Saturday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Jeannie's Place at Planet Playground, over 2,000 eggs will be hidden for kids to hunt. There will also be activities such as face painting and free snow cones. The church is hoping to highlight the new, nearly finished, all-inclusive playground while sharing a special message.
"It's really hard to get out if you just have a yard or a small yard, especially with wheelchairs. Now that they have this playground, they can get on a swing, they can get on the merry-go-round, and they can experience stuff like other kids," said Mikayla Giles who is LoveNow's children's ministry director. Lead Pastor David Hopkins says that since the church moved to the northeast part of the county near the playground, that this is a perfect opportunity. "Well, our purpose would be to share the love of Christ with our community. So, now that we are in the northeast community, we thought what better way to do that than to take Easter eggs that everybody likes to hunt and use the playground, bless the community, and invite as many people as we can. So, you know, we can share the love of Christ through something as simple as hunting Easter eggs."
