The EMBDC honors Waitr food delivery service.

The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation welcomed the Waitr food delivery service as a new E-M-B-D-C member, it provides a food delivery service to Meridian.

 

 “We’re actually founded in 2013, and since then we’ve done a lot of growing, we recently went public in November of 2018. We launched operations here in Meridian: September of 2018 and since then we have been thriving in the city, and we are very happy to be partnering with The EMBDC and welcoming new customers.” Said, Elizabeth Jones Waitr city manager.

 

This food delivery service provides opportunities for employment for those who may need a way to earn some extra cash.

 

 “We’re always hiring, if you would; you can visit our website at Waitrapp.com, and you can put in an application, and we would be happy to take a look. Said, Elizabeth Jones Waitr city manager.

 

 Before applying; an applicant must meet the criteria the delivery service requires.

 

 “You have to be 18 years or older, you do have to have a clean driving record as well as a background, we do run a background check, and that’s it so if you’re interested in applying, please do.”Said, Elizabeth Jones Waitr city manager.

 

 The essential duties require providing fast and friendly service.

 

 “Receive customers order and make sure it’s as accurate as possible and drop it off and as timely of a manner as you can and provide the best customer service as possible.” Said, Elizabeth Jones Waitr city manager.

 

 With more than 40 drivers already employed and 54 restaurants participating, this food delivery service helps the local economy as well as save commuters a trip to their favorite restaurant.

 

 “When we’re able to partner with a restaurant, that’s increasing sales for them, and it’s going to be money that can possibly trickle back into the economy here locally and that’s what we want as well as it will increase sales for Waitr and business for Waitr and that will give us the ability to provide more jobs to persons in the community.” Said, Elizabeth Jones Waitr city manager.
