Coming up on November 10th is the 18th Annual Run for Hope. This event will take place at Bonita Lakes, with races beginning at 8am. This year's run will include a 10k trail run, a 5k road race, a two-mile walk, and a one-mile fun run. All proceeds will benefit the Hope Village for Children, which will help them pay for things such as birthday parties, equipment for sporting events, field trips, and vacations.
"Well, I have tried to always live my life on purpose, but especially even more so with the unexpected death of my father this year. I especially plug into put into all my efforts into this as I did in my 20's when this first originated, and it was just a 10k,” says Director and Race Organizer, Kim Monsour.
Hope Village Guild Member and Race Chair Person Emily Strasser says, "Well, I feel like I have been privileged to meet all of these children and work with them one-on-one, and I have seen the difference that Hope Village makes in their lives and all the contributions from the community only further that. Whether its educational supplies, things to make the cottages more home-y, birthday parties, game nights, or summer trips; all of that together is because of your support. We really thank you for that."
Registration can be done in person at Anderson Health and Fitness Center or online at www.southernracetiming.com. Registration ends at 7:45am on race day.
