The annual Relay For Life event is coming up in May, and until then, one local sponsor is reaching out for more to get involved. EMEPA is calling for more teams to sign up and raise money for the relay. These teams raise money leading up to the event and can also still raise money when the event is taking place, which this year is May 4th at Meridian Community College’s soccer field from 6pm- 10pm. The next team meeting is April 10th at 6pm in the EMEPA auditorium, and the annual Survivor Reception is April 22nd at 1pm in the Hamasa Shriner building in Marion.
“It’s important to honor the survivors because they’re getting extra birthdays that even 10, especially 15 to 20 years ago they wouldn’t have gotten. There’s so many advancements in medicine that are coming from research that the American Cancer Society does, and all of our funds raised are for the American Cancer Society.” -Christy Roberts, Publicity Chair Person, Relay For Life
