This Saturday Morning, runners will make their way to Bonita Lakes, in their pajamas?
“This Saturday at Bonita Lakes on the Grove Route, we are going to have a pajama themed rise and shine 5k. So all the runners, we encourage everyone to bring appropriate attire for pajama wear, and just come on out, have a good time, and help raise some money,” says Sports Ministries creator Danny Todd.
In true sports ministries fashion, the purpose of the run, is to help a family in need.
“We had a local family in the community that kind of settled on some hard times, as a family in general. And, we’re wanting to come together and try to help them get through some stuff. They also recently had a death in the family and we’re just wanting to come together as the bible tells us to be our bothers keaper and just try to help this family out in a time of need.”
The race will start at the playground at the lake, and runners will compete in a 3.1 mile loop.
“We want everyone to come out. We want to make it as big as possible. It is going to be a timed event. So, we’ve got overall trophies for the guy and girl winners, and also we have several different age bracket groups.”
They will also be raffling off prizes and taking donations for the family.
“It’s really just about coming together and helping someone who needs it. So, that’s what we are hoping for this Saturday.”
