Magnolia middle school had its inaugural career fair, introducing students to various career choices.
Some of today’s representing companies included the carter foundation, Mississippi power, local fire and rescue services and the local radio station.
Renee Smith the academic counselor says, “We have several different local organizations out. We have someone from the city of meridian police department. We have the fire department, Mississippi power. We have greater meridian health center, cosmetologist. We have various industries that’s here today.”
The purpose of today’s career fair, was to start students early on the right path.
“This age, there in middle school. So right now, they are not sure what they want to do. So, I want them to see that there are so many opportunities for them," she says.
The career fair went on all afternoon in the school auditorium.
