December 15, 2016 (Meridian, MS) - The Meridian Family of Stations has added Meridian native, Jon Pollard, to its central hub and corporate offices here in Meridian, MS. Current General Manager of Fox23 in Hattiesburg, MS, Jon will step into the new role of Vice President and Group General Manager beginning January 1, 2017, where he will also head up the local CBS, NBC and Fox affiliates in Meridian.
Pollard brings fourteen years of broadcast experience back to the market he calls home. “I’m excited about this opportunity as my wife and I both grew up in Meridian and now raising our children here, so to be able to give back to my community through such a great company is a win-win for us” he stated. “Station Owner Mike Reed and I have already had multiple conversations on the direction we envision for the company while continuing the pay-it forward commitment made years ago.”
Reed agrees that the addition will benefit not just the station, but Meridian as well. “Jon’s been integral in a lot of the decisions we’ve made as a company, so it was a natural fit. We’ve already reaped the benefits of Jon’s leadership, and now we get to explore new avenues. Everyone continues in their roles, except Jon will take a larger leadership role in our organization and assist me with more of the day-to-day activities.”
