The City of Butler’s annual fall festival is here. Everyone is encouraged to come out this Friday and Saturday.
“Everybody has something favorite they can find at butler fest, so we just invite them to come out and find their favorite things,” said Butler Community Liaison, Erika Putman.
There will be live entertainment.
“On Saturday starting at 10 in the morning, we have local entertainment. We’ll feature our award-winning Southern Choctaw High School band. We have local gospel singers. We also have Impact and Exit 13 coming from the University of Mobile. Shannon Knight from Jasper, AL, are our gospel features. We’ll have another street dance with our local band, Homemade Jam,” said Putman.
And lots of great food.
“We have a Memphis Barbecue Network sanctioned barbecue event. We’re expecting around 22 teams for that this year. We also have a backyard portion for that,” said Putman.
Butler Fest will also feature a 5k run, a children’s carnival, and more. Putman said the event will be a time for fellowship.
“We think it’s a great activity for our residents. It gives them time to get out and see everybody. It’s kind of become a homecoming event for people. They may not come home any other time, but they’ll come home for Butler Fest. It’s also a huge opportunity for use to invite other people in to see what our small town has to offer.”
