The United Way of East Mississippi is helping kids get ready to head back to school. Yesterday during their Stuff the Bus campaign at Raising Cane’s on North Hills Street, the organization collected donated school supplies and uniforms that will be given to elementary schools.
“We’ve had some schools, people from churches, local businesses, and lots of individuals are coming by. It’s just great to see the community really come together to support the children,” said Sara Odom, Vice President of Development and Communications.
Last year, the Stuff-The-Bus Campaign impacted over 1,500 kids. The United Way of East Mississippi will distribute the donated items to Meridian Public and Lauderdale County schools next week.
