Stuff the Bus

July 12, 2016

On July 19th united way of east Mississippi will partner with Raisin’ Cane's restaurant for the “Stuff the Bus” campaign where people can donate school materials that will then go on to needy boys and girls.

“We're calling out to people to donate school supplies, new or used school uniforms as well as monetary donations.
If you come to Raising Cane's and make a donation, you'll get a free lemonade, and 15% of what they make that day will be donated to Stuff the Bus. So, you can come in and enjoy some chicken that will go to a good cause,” Anna-Lindsey Hall said.

Until we reach the 19th, Hall says they are reaching out to businesses to help.

“Collecting. We're calling out to businesses to put out a Stuff the Bus box with a flier on it. That way the public can take it there, and then those businesses can bring it to Stuff the Bus on July 19th,” Hall added.

While the need for supplies is great; Hall says they have had strong donations already.

“We've received a great donation from Avery Office Supplies. They've donated school and office supplies, and they've been really awesome with that, but we need more. The need for supplies grows. School is about to come back in about a month, so, it's time to start cleaning out those closets. Maybe while you're getting your own kid school supplies, maybe pick up an extra box of crayons or another backpack and that way you can bring it to Raising Cane's. Clean out your kid's closets,” She said.
