"We received a grant from them for $244,000 in the last few years.” Said, Wade Heggie MCC fitness director.
After receiving this grant, funds were applied to improve the walking trail.
"It’s a full mile loop, and we just encourage all of our faculty, staff, and students, and community people to come out here and use the trail.” Said, Wade Heggie MCC fitness director
In addition to the walk for wellness, health assistance was also available.
“We also had some weight screening that were done. Our activity classes that promote our MCC things, swimming water aerobics, weight training, yoga.” Said, Wade Heggie MCC fitness director.
Students in health studies on campus were able to give a helping hand while getting some hands-on experience of their various fields of study.
“A lot of these students were out here and just enrolled in our classes that we have out here, some of them were enrolled in our science classes and they just came out here because a lot of the things that we teach in science is a lot of things that deal with health nutrition and other things, so they want to learn more on it too.” Said, Wade Heggie MCC fitness director.
